Bhopal is one of the busiest junction stations on the west central railway and the capital city of Madhya Pradesh. The project SRSF work was awarded to replace the existing signaling arrangement and to coordinate the remodeling of the yard to improve the traffic facilities with ease of operations.
The work included indoor design work, supply of all indoor equipments including power supply, installation, testing and commissioning. In the existing arrangement the station yard movements were controlled by scattered signal cabins with ICC making the operation cumbersome.
The project was awarded in May 2005. Our team of project managers, Design & Site Engineers designed and executed the project meticulously and came up with outstanding results. The RRI work involved arround150 signal routes, over 80 point machines, 45 main signals, 48 shunt signals and 200 track circuit which stretched to a distance of 6 km of the yard.
During the testing stage and the non interlocked working period Indoor and outdoor work was integrated in close coordination with railway engineers, and the entire system including SGE block working with adjacent stations were commissioned with least disruption of traffic.
Dismantling of old signaling gears controlled by different signal cabins, installation of new equipments like signal posts, units, point machines, track circuits, etc, under busy traffic conditions and also testing and commissioning under similar conditions are difficult and challenging tasks. Our team of engineers tackled the same and executed the work efficiently to satisfaction of our client.
The work was commissioned within the deadline and this was acknowledged by G.M Western Central Railway who announced a cash award for commissioning such a complex project before time and without disruption of ongoing traffic. |
