The project was awarded by RVNL in northern railway jurisdiction. Though all the SSIs and RRIs are to be commissioned in dead section in at once as per the contract, to facilitate train services, the work had to be commissioned in different phases (3phases in all) at all stations in the section. This created a heavy burden on us, as it was not originally provided in the project. Our engineers rose to the occasion and put in extra efforts to manage all the phase works at all 9 SSI stations. A study of this phase works for station Gurgaon is given below:-
At Gurgaon, the BG line with one loop was provided with SSI along with single line token block instrument in the first phase.
In the second phase, token less block instruments were provided in place of token instruments to save on time of operation.
In the third phase after laying track layout and linking the track for double line working at one end SGE block working was introduced and SSI was provided for the yard layout having 71 signal routes with 19 main signals, 17 shunts signals, 2 calling-on signals, 28 point machines and 44 track circuits stretching to a distance of about 6 km of the station. From single line working, SGE block working also was introduced in this phase at the other end to complete the entire work. All these phase work necessitated alteration to be carried out in circuits to suit different working under traffic conditions. Our engineers planned all the phase works in such a way that it was possible to complete the work with the least disturbance to movement of trains and to the satisfaction of our clients. |
