Video surveillance system, interlocking system at station inaugurated; Touch n’ Feel scheme work to be over soon |
WEST CENTRAL Railway (WCR) Zone General Manager (GM) Maheep Kapur inspected the Bhopal railway station on Friday. Apart from inaugurating video surveillance system, he also inaugurated the route relay interlocking system.
The GM announced Rs 1 lakh award for employees of various departments for finishing works of route relay interlocking and yard remodelling within the timeframe.
The video surveillance system was recently installed to keep a constant round the clock watch on suspicious persons. Nearly 18 digital cameras record the movement at the station and are connected to intranet through optical fibre system. Action can be taken promptly after watching any suspicious activity.
Kapur said the ongoing work under the Touch n’ Feel scheme would be completed at Bhopal, Itarsi, Vidisha and Bina soon.
He said Bhopal is among the 19 stations of the country to have been selected for development as World Class Stations and the work will start here after Delhi and Mumbai.
There was high security at the station owing to apprehensions that there could be a demonstration in view of the recent incident at Jabalpur where lawyers were beaten up.
Kapur also inspected the Midghat-Barkheda section, Hoshangabad and Mandideep stations. Later in the day, he left for inspection of Vidisha, Ganj Basoda and Bina stations. |
